Internships

• Responding to constituent inquiries and solving everyday issues 
• Attending and planning community events 
• Researching policy items that come before Council or other local governments 
• Collaborating with various City departments, local businesses, and other stakeholders 
• Technical assistance with Zoom, Microsoft Office, and other software 
• Office administrative work 
• Interns should possess experience in critical thinking and policy crafting. 

• Researching policy items that come before Council or other local governments 
• Responding to constituent inquiries related to policies 
• Attending and reporting back on policy discussions held at community events to the Legislative Director 
• Collaborating with various City departments, local businesses, and other stakeholders such as advocacy groups and neighborhood associations 
• Writing policy documents such as memorandum proposals, presentations, etc.
• Coordinating and scheduling meetings and other administrative work relating to public policy 
• Interns should possess experience in critical thinking and policy crafting.  

Design interns will work on: 

• Social media graphics (sometimes with a rapid turnaround) 
• Flyers and other physical materials as needed 

Video interns will work on: 

• Short and longform video such as explainers, council recaps, and interviews 
• Captioning and chapterizing video 

Editorial interns will work on: 

• Writing social media copy 
• Updating the editorial calendar 
• Curating our office’s bi-weekly newsletter 

• Interns should possess an intent to specialize in a specific area of digital media.
